William “Grandpa Bill” Beckstrom was taught to value an honest day’s work, find ways to help others, and if anything was worth doing it was worth doing right. Bill also knew his favorite place was with any car or truck project that just needed a skilled pair of hands. He found the perfect combination when he began working as a painter for Kessler Body Shop in Casper, Wyoming. It only took a few years of dedicated work to perfect his craft, and he soon decided it was time to strike out on his own. Beckstrom Body Shop was born in 1959. Over the next two decades he successfully built his dream from the ground up, moved operations to Utah, and set the shop up for the next generation. We are grateful every day for the strong roots Grandpa Bill established.
1st Generation
Jay Beckstrom, along with his brother Kim, took their father’s values and footsteps to heart. Jay learned the trade and the business while working as a body man at Merrill Bean’s body shop in Ogden, Utah. High school sweethearts, Jay and Lecia were married in 1973. In 1982, they took the family body shop to new heights. Guided by the same values they expanded to a larger location, increased capacity, became an insurance preferred pro shop, and grew the body shop family. Honesty became one of the hallmarks of Beckstrom Body Shop. Jay expertly worked at the shop, sanding and painting cars. Lecia ran the office and parts operations with enviable efficiency. As the shop grew each of their four children took jobs learning and working the family business. Jay and Lecia set the body shop on a solid foundation ready for growth while rooted in family values.
2nd Generation
Shawn, Jen, Jayson and Shane are now the backbone of the Beckstrom Body Shop family legacy. Beginning in 2017 they opened multiple locations in Northern Utah, expanded to over 60 employees and grew the coveted insurance preferred pro shop status for every major insurance company. Shawn Beckstrom oversees operations and growth as CEO. Jen Meese manages accounts payable, accounts receivable and HR. Jayson and Shane Beckstrom are painters, treating each vehicle with care and expertise. And we wouldn’t be where we are today without our family of incredible employees. Beckstrom Body Shop takes great pride in maintaining the same values of hard work, customer service, and expert craftsmanship that have earned our customers’ trust for over 60 years. Values that will guide us into even better change and growth for the next generation.
